Statewide Service Learning Conference

A number of Judson students, staff and faculty members attended a statewide service learning conference in Tuscaloosa on September 27-28. The conference, entitled "To Whom Much Is Given," was sponsored by the Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility.

Those in attendance included students Fightress Stallworth, Davenia Boyd, Laura Sanders, and Ashley Glass; faculty members Harold Arnold, Kevin Ball, and Valerie Burnes; and Student life staff members Susan Jones and Susie Allison. Susan Jones, Director of Faith-Based Service and Learning, and Tina Odell, Elementary Education major, gave a presentation on an ongoing service learning project incorporating literature circles into elementary classrooms on behalf of Dr. Suzanne Stringer, who was unable to attend due to a family medical emergency.
