Judson students used this opportunity to pilot a survey that will be revised for use in a health needs assessment of Perry County. Students worked to develop the pilot survey over the course of the semester as they learned about health issues and inequalities. Sixty survey forms were completed, and notes were made about how the survey should be modified before it is administered on a larger scale. Students hope that a health needs assessment will document the need for more health facilities and personnel in the area.

Addressing health needs
Students enrolled in Health and Fitness during the spring semester helped staff a community health fair, which was organized by Sowing Seeds of Hope and Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
