Equine Outreach

Students involved in Judson’s Equine Science program participated in a special summer service project in partnership with local nursing homes. Students and equine science instructor Jennifer Hoggle take horses to the nursing homes, where the residents have an opportunity to interact with the students and the animals. Many of the residents anxiously await this weekly event, according to nursing home staff members, who also report that the visits significantly improve the emotional outlook of the residents who participate.
