On October 7, five students and three Student Services staff members helped complete a Habitat for Humanity project in the nearby town of Greensboro, Alabama. Work completed included painting, installing ceiling fans, shoveling dirt, sowing grass seeds, and washing windows.
"It feels great to do things for other people in need. I had so much fun learning how to do different things, like putting a fan together," said Samantha Bass, a first year student who participated. "After about 25 times and 5 people we finally got it. I would love to work on something like this again."
Plans have been made to help with other upcoming home builds undertaken by the Greensboro Habitat Chapter.
